European Route of Brick Gothic

We would like to take advantage of this occasion and present to you the best of Stargard. Discover our town wondering down its unusual areas located off the beaten track. Tourists consider Stargard to be “the Jewel of Western Pomerania”, which it really is due to well-preserved historic buildings and unique scenery. The abundance and the value of the historic buildings in Stargard allowed for its entry on the European Route of Brick Gothic.

The European Route of Brick Gothic project was established as a part of Interreg III B series. The route presents the heritage of brick Gothic architecture in towns located on the coast of the Baltic Sea and connects 34 towns from seven countries: Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Poland and Sweden, including, since 19 July 2006, Stargard. Following the route, you can not only discover the fascinating world of brick Gothic, but also beautiful legends, trivia from the past and a picturesque scenery.

The aim of the project, which is coordinated by the German Association for Housing, Urban and Spatial Development (Deutscher Verband für Wohnungswesen, Städtebau und Raumordnung e.V.) in Berlin is to promote towns with historic buildings of brick Gothic.
